The infamous Nana became synonymous with St Phalle’s work and allowed her to embody her feminist practice further. What better medium than adornment to interrogate the female experience? In this brooch Nana stands atop of the male figure’s head. Her male counterpart is detachable and can be worn separately, thus allowing the wearer to position the man wherever they like, depending on how they feel about men at the time!
