Stephen Cox United Kingdom, b. 1946
Inspired by his Gemini sculpture series, Cox’s 'Geminid' pendants are made of red Egyptian porphyry and green Greek porphyry from the Imperial Porphyry Quarry in Egypt. Split down the middle and held together by a magnet, they are representative of two halves of the same whole. Evoking the generative life force of a splitting cell, their name suggests a bud blooming, reflection and connection.
