| Past & Present: Jewellery by 20th Century Artists | ||
Since mid-20th Century, there has been no shortage of artists extending their creativity by bringing pieces of work into the everyday. To that end, jewellery has been one of the leading mediums - a way in which an artist can offer both a body onto art and art onto the body. |

As the artists we have presented in this exhibition are various, so too are the objects they have made. Styles, periods and mediums differ as greatly as the interpretation of the word "jewellery". For the artists, these pieces are intimate explorations of material, space, form, trends and personal artistic desires. For the beholder, such objects are not merely adornment but compliments to one's own reverence of mind, body and cultural identity. |

In keeping with the historically strong tradition of objet d'art, the Louisa Guinness Gallery has also invited some of Britain's leading contemporary artists to try their hand as well. Given no boundaries, these participants have proven there are no limits to the art of jewellery making even within the 21st Century. |
