Ross Lovegrove (1958) is a designer and visionary born in Cardiff, Wales. Inspired by the logic and beauty of nature Ross Lovegrove's designs create a synergy between technology, materials, science and intelligent organic form. Lovegrove's deeply human but resourceful approach projects optimism and innovative vitality onto everything he touches from jewellery to architecture, to create what many have seen as the new aesthetic expression of the 21st century.
Lovegrove was born in Cardiff, Wales in 1958. He graduated from Manchester Polytechnic with 1st Class BA Hons in Industrial design in 1980 and went on to study for a Masters of Design at Royal College of Art, London in 1983.
Since then Lovegrove's work has won numerous international awards and is included amongst the permanent collections of various important institutions including The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), New York, The Design Museum in London and Vitra Design Museum, Basel, Switzerland. Lovegrove's work has also been exhibited, amongst others, at the Axis Centre, Japan and The Pompidou Centre, Paris.
